NYPD Blue (Season 2) DVD Review

Mardi 8 avril 2008

Nominated for 84 Emmys and 13 Golden Globes, including 5 for Best TV Series - Drama in its first five years, NYPD Blue is one of the best prime time dramas in television history. It s also one of the most talked about and controversial as well. Prior to its series premiere in Fall 1993, NYPD Blue found itself embroiled in a nationwide controversy surrounding proper TV programming and calls for government censorship. Its opening tagline “This police drama contains adult language and scenes with partial nudity. Viewer discretion is advised,” caused a quite a stir before the public had even seen the first episode. Family rights groups maligned the ABC network for airing the show, but when NYPD Blue turned out to be a mild show by conventional standards, the massive publicity only served to instantly propel the police drama to the top of the Nielsen ratings, where it lived out 12 successful seasons

NYPD Blue follows the exploits of a New York City Police Department unit as they deal with the high-stress trials and travails indicative of the world s most demanding police work. During the show s 12 seasons, a number of characters transferred in and out of the department, but Det. Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz) was the one constant. The brash, steel-gut demeanor of Sipowicz set the tone for the show, and most episodes revolve around Sipowicz and his various partners (whose mild-mannered temperaments help soften his oftentimes brash methods). Det. John Kelley (David Caruso) was the first of these partners, followed by Bobby Simone (Jimmy Smits) The brainchild of Steven Bochco (former writer for Columbo and creator of such hit series as Hill Street Blues, L.A. Law, and Doogie Howser, M.D.), NYPD Blue raised the bar for prime-time police dramas, and along with contemporary peer Law & Order, the show defined the genre during the decade of the 1990s

The NYPD Blue (Season 2) DVD features a number of dramatic episodes including the season premiere “Trials & Tribulations” in which Kelley s testimony on Licalsi s behalf triggers an Internal Affairs investigation and Sipowicz tries to enlist the help of an abused woman (fearful of her husband) whose testimony is badly needed. Meanwhile, Sipowicz s AA sponsor wants him to agree to the boilerplate recovery contract before reconstituting his relationship with Sylvia Other notable episodes from Season 2 include “The Final Adjustment” in which Simone and Sipowicz investigate a successful chiropractor suspected of murdering his wife, and “Bombs Away” in which the two detectives apprehend a Rumanian immigrant with a woman locked in his trunk and the man turns out to be a fugitive terrorist

Surrogate Life

Lundi 31 mars 2008

We’re sponsored by belly ear navel pierced showing online Years ago, after my first-ever arrival in Paris, there was no doubt about what I would like to begin my journey …
I went immediately to the cemetery P re Lachaise.
That is the final resting place of such luminaries as Voltaire, Victor Hugo, Sarah Berhhardt and Chopin. If I had been there during the day, I am sure I would have taken my time to pay my respect to each of them and others. However, it was around 1:00 a.m., and this was a pilgrimage to what& 39;s become more of a shrine than a tomb.
This is where Jim Morrison of the Doors is buried.
James Dean lived fast and died young. Kurt Cobain had succumbed, by his own hand, the stress and recurrent abdominal pain. Marilyn Monroe took many tablets. Mama Cass choked on that fatal ham sandwich. Keith Moon simply burst of self-indulgence.
Jim Morrison was different. He lived hard, so that they no longer.
I believe that there are those among us who live life on the edge, with the sole purpose of passing this experience for all others. I do not think we make a conscious decision to do it, but the circumstances of its existence drew them to it. They embody a collusion of talent, freedom, credibility and forum. From this mixture, destination and then intercedes legends are forged.
This role need not finish in the final cost of mortality. Look at Lou Reed. An underground poet laureat who was so anointed by Andy Warhol, which could be called the godfather doubt that ultimately influences popular music to punk — — this day, and then became one-Rock & amp ;-Roll Animal before marrying into life and relative tranquility. He is a writer-cum-musician who returned the value of word economy of letters (the Ramones owe a huge debt to him), which lionized the dark annals of the states changed and that culminated by allegedly shooting heroin on stage. Somehow, the creator of nihilistic Sweet Jane, the chronicler of opiates White Light / White Heat, the dark playwright of Berlin, managed to survive. I am sure that no one is more pleased with that result than him.
Morrison, on the other hand, never seemed to care.
His obsession was with a mystical dimension which apparently coexistiram with visceral reality and his determination was including them. This effort has been well-recorded both in Danny Sugarman of the book, & 39; No One Here Gets Out Alive ", and Oliver Stone film version of it, logically entitled, The Doors & " quot;.
Morrison did Break on Through to the Other Side and became The Lizard King. Your lifestyle and music served as a catalyst for both new age and outrage. Its Doors visions framed in engaging melodies that were the cornerstone of his time. Their music worked for breezy listening, intense audiophilia and for all levels, between. When Morrison would sing ", I woke up this morning and came " me a beer, there was no doubt about their presence in the original Hard Rock Caf and breakfast that would be your lightest meal of the day.
With a legacy like that, I think it is no surprise that rumors circulated about the French authorities want to expel him as an estimated P re Lachaise cemetery. However, during my visit, I was told by a watchful gendarme that the graves were purchased in perpetuity, so that he and his colleagues had many half-man patrol to monitor the mourners Morrison. From what I saw and have come to know, who is a full-time nocturnal posting.
Even the late hour, I was one of about a dozen that surrounded Morrison & 39; s headstone. Someone ghettoblaster churned through a litany of Doors songs, candles and flashlights eerily provided an appropriate atmosphere, and despite a strong waft of 60s-ish aroma was always present, the constables kept their distance while tokers has remained discreet. The composition of the court was constantly changing, the comings and goings were hardly recognized. Instead, the conversations were perpetual and for free. From time to time, someone remembers a personal memory involving a Doors song, but preferred topics were more along the lines of the consciousness Morrison seemed intent to increase. Lyrics were analyzed and musical passages were toasted. All this was done in hushed tones, not necessarily out of respect, but because no one wanted to upstage the ongoing ghettoblaster the soundtrack.
I was there for two hours. Nobody exchanged names or details. There were different views expressed, but no arguments. Literature references and musical influences of dialogue filled with a subtle intensity that would have made him proud. The effect of everyone& 39;s comments seemed both thoughtful and theraputic, as they put Morrison & 39; s escapades and compositions in depth personal perspective, there was no doubt that he had actually, in some way, become an extension of each one of their lives and they felt they were enriched because the same.
My lasting memory of that night was the notion that Jim Morrison probably would have preferred to be the focal point for wills introspective rather than to the massive din of a Doors concert.
If so, perhaps he meant that finally got what he wanted. In a way, then, the same as we did.

Killer Techniques To Get A Job In The Film Industry!

Jeudi 27 mars 2008

We’re sponsored by belly ear navel pierced showing online Get a job in the movie industry can be very difficult. It is not like other industries, which are based on how your resume is written or how well you interview. Industry jobs are very, very profitable and sought after. Partly because they can be very rewarding experience to provide the opportunity for travel, joy and fame. Despite the lack of advertising, and most of these sites are secured through social networks, and the word mouth referrals. So being a social butterfly can be your advantage.
most people in the industry are looking to recruit reliable, honest and hard working people. It is not the industry that lead to work with the newcomers. When money is at stake and discrediting the people on the line, no one wants to a new trial or Gal men. In addition, the industry can be the turnover rate is very high. Start first with a good resume-one that focuses on your particular expertise. The previous list of products that you worked on before. If you just start trying to work on some projects the student or trainee positions based on your resume. You can get some great resume and interview tips: www.careerstrategies.blogspot.com
next, the killer here some of the techniques that will help you get the first concert and beyond.
develop social network. These are usually friends and family members who work in the industry or know someone WHO is working. Stay in touch with them through e-mail and telephone calls. If there is a new project or opening position is likely to be to spread the word. A great way to make these contacts and jobs in the industry. Go to these events and to collect the largest possible number of email addresses. The next day begins emailed the people that I had met, but frankly not ask if they know of any vehicles. Your goal is to develop harmoniously so that they trust you. With firm confidence that they will open you regarding the news and important events. In recent years the Internet has truly exploded with job opportunities. Is a goggle search for the film organizations and chat rooms. Subscribe to the largest possible number and make it a point to stay in touch with them on an ongoing basis.
another method is to obtain a list of films about to go into production. Ross Report correspondent in Hollywood and holds all complete lists. Create interest in looking postcards that highlight your experience and field. Send postcards to the Director of production, as well as for the production of the company on a monthly basis. The idea here is to keep your name in the spot light. As I said before Internet is truly a wonderful place to find a job. One of the best sites is to visit the Mayor& 39;s Office in the city. When it comes to your films have a file for a permit. Mayor& 39;s office and then do not keep records on their site, which posts available film. Bear in mind not to put a lot of weight on the same function, but see it as an opportunity for networking. You may need to take action to pay anything to make the necessary contacts. If you play your cards right can lead one to another, and so forth. Just make friends with as many people as possible, but not intrusion. There is also the work of the councils, which specializes in the work of cinema. The one great thing about them is that they allow you to create " the position of undersecretary & quot;. These virtual agents work you e-mail alerts whenever a new position novels. You can be involved in one or www.rkacinemasociety.com www.freecastingcalls.blogspot.com.
organizations could be a useful tool in your job search efforts. Not only will they invite you to important industry networking events, but could be the key to enter into an internal, and the training and guidance. I also provide advice on participation with agencies heat as well. Now there are hundreds out there and agencies specializing in everything from accounting to the positions of graphic arts. Agency to find places for entertainment functions and record with them. The trick here is the call to the agency daily asking if they work for you. Do not wait for them, but I invite you to make yourself available to them. My last bit of advice would be to take a proactive approach. Create a great site and begin email to your site. This is a part of your marketing campaign. Write attention blurbs about yourself and the products that you have. This would create a buzz about you and your service. Here& 39;s the killer
now style certainly help you on the ground after the mission work. Your job creation and provide the Council until after the opening of employment positions for free. When people start sending you the faults that you will be in for sure. If you do this right you will be the first to obtain information about new job opportunities in your area. But, in fact, to make this latter course of action sure to exchange information with your network. If you scratch that it will be back to square one sure yours by passing along any good vehicle for you. Follow these tips, you can get a job you always wanted to steady!

Oprah s Favorite Things Hits Big This Holiday Season

Her most popular segment is one of her & quot; favorite & quot; holiday. During the show, Oprah shares in the TV and studio, her favorite things, including some jewelry, gadgets and vacation getaways.
people love for the show & quot; favorite & quot; episode and the audience to obtain and the extravagant gifts Oprah appears. Members of the audience of about 300 people each episode full of holiday gifts. The amount varies, but expect to receive Oprah& 39;s audience among the 4,000 dollars worth of presents each and 15,000 dollars. But Oprah is a big winner. Episode 2004, & quot; Oprah& 39;s favorite things & quot; the highest ratings in the past & quot; favorite & quot; episode and the second episode, the highest rating this season. She
oprah, from a long time ago & quot; favorite & quot; episodes since 1999. Guests received a set of candle lighting ceremony, each person& 39;s inspiring a different kind of love, peace and passion and each candle contained in a small jewel. 12 - candles set in the important 169.95 dollars. Dog owners is no doubt thrilled to FIFIROMEOPETTO and clothing ($ 150 and up) - One of Oprah& 39;s favorite things in 1999. One of the most extravagant gift of the year, reaching SUZANABOTTOPASONARAIZUDO paintings, and 5,000 dollars. Painting given love Oprah, her writer Sarah breathnach SUZANABOTTO banned.
in 2000, Oprah add gadgets like many high-tech talkabout Motorola pager (priced at 179 dollars), audience members will receive an e-mail, go. Since 2000, another favorite book is the equivalent of the iPod is the IBUKKU gemstar reb1100 from RCA (299 dollars). Gemstar, up to 8000 users download page of the book is that they have never had so please carry books.
the blisslabs glamour gloves ($ 44) and gel ($ 22) is one of my favorite things Oprah in 2002. 4 - - 1, frontgate from Panasonic digital camera ($ 449), a big hit. Camera, the size of a credit card, photos and video, but can also be used as an audio recorder and mp3 players.
in 2003, the two decided to EPISODOOPURA that her favorite segment is -1 in the spring and fall for a single. In spring, apple audience iPod ($ 399) is the minimum x Silhouette sunglasses ($ 175 - $ 2 50), Hewlett Packard and digital cameras, printer docks between (30 dollars the total value of 7) Other items . Fall racked up audiences with classic short ugg boots ($ 110), FIRIPPUSUTAIN teslar watch ($ 595), and Sony dcr - dvd200 handycam ($ 1000).
2004 segment is a very special thing like Oprah. She is convinced she& 39;s 300 teachers will attend the show, to talk about education under the premise that a teacher& 39;s daily routine. Instead, she was startled, it& 39;s my favorite episode. Teachers received a gift like to s260 Sony notebook computer, Dell 30 " Widescreen LCD TV, washing machine, Maytag Neptune top-load and drying center, and two trips to the exclusive miraval resort and spa. The total amount of each gift is teaching about 15,000 US dollars -1 years ago, much more than the sum of 4,800 dollars. Oprah is a supporter of education and teachers, and teachers knew, but worth it. N lbrin2 005 years, Oprah& 39;s favorite things that she decided to make the biggest audience Katrina relief workers. Gifts of the Sony VAIO Fj notebook, shawl collar robe kashw re , blackberry 7,105 tons from T-Mobile, and some of Oprah& 39;s favorite from 2004, Australia& 39;s Uptown ugg boot The apple iPod. But far fewer than a year ago, more than 2005 recipients still received 7,000 dollars worth of items.
probably partly due to Oprah& 39;s television audience, as well as her personal charm, every year, the manufacturer is the first discovery by Oprah& 39;s favorite things all donated gifts. But they reap huge profits from it. Get them, and immediately after exposure to television, each episode of sales growth. Sephora companies like Macy& 39;s and described both Oprah and publish as soon as possible mention of the product is one of the people coming to the store to retrieve it in droves.
so Eventually, it is a win-win situation. The increase in sales for the manufacturers to see the audience& 39;s great gift to retrieve and Oprah just keeps getting more and more popular with her audience.

Get the Word No You Can t Out of Your Vocabulary!

Samedi 22 mars 2008

No. It is a two-letter word that can instantly send chills down the spine of the strongest " strong man - and woman " knocks the wind out of anyone& 39;s sailing. In the entertainment industry is a word you may hear a million times " No. " Even if you hear the word " " No one million and one times, never give up! I know that he has a lot of determination and motivation to get passed What little word, but you can do it! " " Not seem to have a million different emotions attached to it, depending on how " not " is interpreted. It also depends on the perception of the person when he or she hears the word. Sometimes you can stop in their tracks especially when they relate to his music, which is part of who you are.
No seem mean or be interpreted as:
1. They do not like what I have to say or sell 2. . They do not like me.
3. What& 39;s wrong with me?
4. What I would do differently than the other person who got the yes?
6. I should not be as talented or knowledgeable as the person who received the yes.
7. What I have not got that the person who received the " yes " do?
8. Will my talent not just measure up?
There are many more thoughts we can go in our minds when we are rejected for any reason. Too often, Customize the rejection as opposed to simply realizing that it is not really personal, it& 39;s just a business decision for all them.
We try to rationalize it and say " Just a word! It is not the first time I heard is and will not be the last time that I hear it in this business. " But what we feel inside is so different.
We feel total rejection and can feel completely demoralized. When the word " not " leaves the mouth of someone in the field Our work, it is as if we had rejected and this may bring back memories of our subconscious childhood.
The not Random House Dictionary defines as:
& quot ; not, adv., N, pl. 1. Word used to express dissent, denial, or refusal - n 2. Voto negative - adj. 3. None ".
As children " not tell us, do not touch it or you will get burned. " Although we heard our parents tell us that, we still want touch fire. After all, " what it really means to burn? And it& 39;s so pretty … I just want to touch it. When we do " Ouch!
Then our parents say " I said no, do not touch it! Now you see? " Our minds then " not equate the word " " ouch, you will get hurt! " That would assume the first meaning of the Random House Dictionary of " not ", which is dissent, means " difference of opinion. " Parents view was that the fire had injured. The son of the opinion that the fire was as beautiful as it could harm him? When we got older and go to school, in the playground can hear, " No, you can not play me. The word " " not " then invokes a feeling completely different, so our first experience with the word " not ". It now means rejection! So " not " leads to the second part of the Random House Dictionary & 39; s Meaning of the word, which is a negative vote " ".
Another child in the playground launched a " " negative vote, in our direction saying they do not want to play us. We were given an explanation as to why they do not want to play with us, we were only told " not " our minds and that equated to rejection.
And thus our lives continue this pace of association. The word " not " always seems to be associated with something bad and seems to stick in our minds much more often than we heard yes. Hurtful memories of the past longest.
So how we can change this situation? I can only speculate. Maybe we should go back to our childhood memories and re-program them so that the word " not " not have such a major impact. Or maybe you just have to start now and really believe in our minds, what our mouths speak to our family and friends, and that is … " " That is not only a word.
But I believe that we should have the third meaning of the Random House Dictionary and apply it in a slightly revised, personal way when we hear the word " not ".
For example, if I hear the word " not " Now, when it is directly linked to anything that has to do with my art, I say to myself: " " not have any & ; quot; flavor ". " " Not have any impact on my life " ". " " Not have any & 39; Ind cio on what they are talking about. Then " that phrase seems to have much less impact, and feels much less as a negative vote " " to being.
And with my staff when I say these things to me and relate them directly Beseda " not ", cease to be a rejection of me, but a rejection of the other person of the system of belief. After all, they are only individuals whose belief systems are different then mine. From now on, when someone says " " Not for me, the negative impact is gone, and & 39; no & 39; anymore I will leave it affects me. Jaci Rae - " The Rae of Hope TM " Copyright 2006
